Built for the individual, not around them

Speaks the selected choice aloud so the Communicator receives clear, unambiguous confirmation of what they communicated.

🔤

Letterboard with scaffolding modes

🎮

Games to build motor plans

Tapping and accuracy games at configurable difficulty — building the pointing precision that letterboard communication depends on.

📋

Session tracking

Log questions, choices, and responses in real time. Review accuracy and patterns to track progress over time.

⚙️

Highly configurable

Position, size, color, spacing — tune the layout to the combination that best supports the Communicator where they are today.

Grounded in the session

Nonspeaking individuals who use letterboards and choice-based communication are not limited by understanding — they are limited by the tools available to them. Kural is built on that premise.

Whether you're running structured choice sessions to build tolerance, decision-making, and confidence, or supporting open-ended letterboard spelling to expand expressive language, the goal is the same: engagement with real ideas, scaffolded to meet the individual where they are and move steadily toward independent, open communication.

Kural supports the session — it does not structure it. You bring the relationship, the curriculum, and the knowledge of what your communication partner is ready for. We make the session itself easier to run and track, so you can stay present with the person in front of you rather than managing paperwork.

About Kural

Kural means voice in Tamil. The name is also a quiet nod to the Thirukkural — a classical Tamil text whose verses on learning, knowledge, and the relentless pursuit of wisdom have endured for two thousand years. Those verses remind us that understanding is universal, that the desire to learn is human, and that knowledge belongs to everyone. The Thirukkural, and all the knowledge in the world, should be as reachable for a nonspeaking individual as for anyone else. Kural exists to help make that true.

Kural is built by a parent, for fellow families navigating communication for nonspeaking and minimally speaking individuals. It is currently in early access via TestFlight.
